Danielle Cullum's Bio
Something I want people to know about me:
I am currently a college student. When I graduate I hope to pursue a career somewhere in the political field.
Why I serve in ministry:
I serve in ministry because I love serving the people of God. Specific to the ministry that I serve in are several reasons why I serve. There are so many things competing for children’s attention today from such a young age. But sometimes the one thing that is most foundational gets overlooked, and that is their relationship with Christ. I love being an influence for Christ in children’s lives. The children that I work with are such an encouragement to me. It is such a joy to see the children long to know and understand the things of God. It is really amazing how much they do understand even at such a young age. It is so important for children to grow up with a strong foundation in their faith. And while the parents are the main influence and teachers in this area, I love being able to share in this experience with them!
Interests:
One of my biggest interests right now is faith in the area of politics. I enjoy reading up on legislative issues that affect the family and faith. I also enjoy taking action to lobby for or against bills. I do this mainly through phone calls and emails. I find our legislative process to be very interesting and I love taking the opportunity to get involved and make my voice heard.
Favorite movies:
My favorite movie is actually an entire series. It is a Hallmark movie series called, Love Comes Softly. Many probably haven’t heard of it, and I do have to admit they are pretty cheesy, but I like them. It is something I enjoy and I can get the whole family into. (I can only stand so many episodes of The Waltons.)
Music interests:
I enjoy listening to worship and contemporary Christian music. I have a large variety on my iPod and usually just add a song here and there as I hear it and like! One band that I really enjoy is Tenth Avenue North.
Favorite books:
My favorite book is the Bible, of course, but I think that goes without saying. Some of the books I like reading are books on Christian living and biographies of people who have gotten saved and used their influence in the world to make an impact for Christ. I also like reading books of quotes.
Favorite Bible verse:
If I could give only scripture to people it would be Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This scripture is such a comforting scripture. It is amazing that God has a plan for each and every one of our lives. Whenever I am unsure of the direction God has for my life I look back to this scripture and remember that I don’t have to worry about my future because God has already planned my life out! And for that I am grateful!
